Think of this series as an online slam book, where we get to know our favorite people...
Age: 40
What was your first concert?
Eurythmics at the Greek Theater in LA, with my bestie (still my bestie) and her sister and their Uncle Richard.
Who was your biggest childhood crush?
The lead singer of The Violent Femmes, Gordon Gano!
Favorite book growing up?
I really liked Caps for Sale a lot; the colors, the simplicity of the story; and the fact that it was a female author at a time when most books were by men really impressed itself in my memory.
As a teenager, I loved Salinger. I started with Catcher in the Rye and made my way through every novel and every short story he wrote. I loved the characters dialogue and the elaborate worlds he could create.
What's your best childhood toy-related scar?
My first cousin Seth was two years younger than me and he had this Fischer Price doll named "Joey." It was a soft boy doll with a hard plastic face and you could button and zip his jacket, and I wanted that doll so badly. I remember crying when I had to leave their house in San Diego because I didn't want to leave Joey. I never got my own Joey doll.
What's the best part of getting older?
Feeling less bad about being different and left out. Because it still happens all the time but it's less devastating.
